WhatsApp Messenger or just WhatsApp is a freeware, cross-platform centralised instant messaging and voice-over-IP service. It is owned by Meta Platforms that are available worldwide. WhatsApp Web is the online web application of the same.
For iOS beta users, WhatsApp recently released the Global Media Player. It allows users to listen to voice notes in the background. Now that the service is being introduced to desktop users, we have a feeling it will soon be available to everyone. The following are the specifics-
GLOBAL AUDIO PLAYER
WhatsApp is currently rolling out a new feature that allows you to listen to voice notes when you switch to a different chat, after the release of the option to pause and restart voice recordings on WhatsApp Desktop beta.
When we play a voice note and then switch to another chat, WhatsApp continues to play the voice note. A new audio player bar appears at the bottom of your chats list, as shown in the screenshot. We may manage the voice note using the playback button on this bar. The progress bar indication will let us know when the voice note is finished.
The feature is now available to all WhatsApp Desktop beta testers. It is a great update for the users. It gives them the opportunity to switch to different chats or play the voice notes in the background. So make sure you have the most recent version installed to make use of this attribute.
According to WABetaInfo, when these two features will be released as part of the stable version is still unknown. As the global media player is being tested on numerous devices, there’s a good possibility that it’ll be available to everyone in the next stable App’s update. So, one can look forward to this useful feature being included in the coming version.
