Ginny, who is bright but has few friends at school, is informed by her teacher that her stepfather died in a car accident, and the family relocates to the imaginary town of Wellsbury following the funeral.

Ginny is a prominent character in the show, and she is seen to have two love interests, Marcus and Hunter. She is also friends with her neighbour Maxine. On the whole, the show revolves around how Ginny and Georgia make it in this new town.
