Redmibook, Xiaomi’s first laptop to get launch tomorrow

Xiaomi is planning to introduce the world’s first RedmiBook computers in India on Tuesday, according to reports.

The electronics manufacturer made its foray into the laptop industry with the launch of Mi laptops last year, and it has been teasing the release of the new devices for the last few days. It has also disclosed the colour options for the new RedmiBook, but the majority of the other specifications have been kept under wraps.

On August 3, we should anticipate Xiaomi to unveil at least two versions of the new RedmiBook, according to our predictions. Of course, in order to stay up with the times, it will be an online-only event.

Redmi’s product line will now include more than just smartphones and accessories, according to the introduction. It has also established itself as Xiaomi’s go-to brand for more cheap goods, while Mi products appeal to a more affluent client base of affluent people.

“With the introduction of power banks, earphones, and smart bands last year, Redmi established itself as more than a smartphone brand. This year, we also introduced smart televisions. And now we’ve made the decision to introduce RedmiBook,” Xiaomi had said in an invitation to the event.

Specifications

According to certain rumours, Xiaomi is planning to release the RedmiBook with a 15-inch display screen size.

Most likely, this will be a Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. In a teaser image, Xiaomi shows a design with minimal bezels surrounding the screen, which should make it easier to accommodate the camera.

It would be fascinating to watch how this plays out since last year’s Mi laptops did away with the functionality and instead came with a standard USB webcam.

The forthcoming RedmiBook is said to come with dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v5.0, as well as USB 3.1 Type-C, USB Type-A, USB 2.0, HDMI, and an audio port.

It will be available in a variety of colours and configurations. The gadget will most likely be equipped with two 2W stereo speakers. It is probable that the laptop will come pre-loaded with Windows 10, but customers will have the option to update to Windows 11 whenever the new version is available.

The inclusion of Intel’s 11th Generation Core i3 and Core i5 Tiger Lake CPUs in the new RedmiBook is expected to be one of the most intriguing aspects of the device.

This will be paired with up to 8GB of RAM and a 512GB solid-state drive (SSD). Additionally, Xiaomi has verified on social media that the RedmiBook would have a battery life of around 10 hours. It is possible that it may come with a 65W charger.

Xiaomi has already announced availability on Flipkart in a promotional teaser video that was released earlier this week. The laptop will very certainly be offered via Mi.com as well.

What should the price of the new RedmiBook be?

The exact laptop that Xiaomi is bringing to India is a mystery to us, but based on the stated specs, it shouldn’t be more than Rs 50,000.

The new items are expected to be targeted at students, first-time job searchers, and casual laptop users, among other groups.

Given its track record, it is likely to maintain the price as competitive as possible, and don’t be shocked if the laptop costs about Rs 40,000 or less.

It’s also possible that Xiaomi may sell the second model at a more competitive level in order to appeal to college students.

RedmiBook will be available for purchase on August 3, and we will know the exact pricing when it becomes available.
